I recently did a mantra meditation with davidji, centred around awakening compassion. It made me reflect and inspired my latest mantra post on my Socials, I am compassionate. The big question is - is it about being compassionate towards others or yourself? I don’t know about you but a lot of the times we can be incredibly compassionate and understanding towards others, and particularly when family, friends or colleagues are going through a difficult time. There is no doubt that there is a huge value in being compassionate, yet we don’t seem to give the same amount of compassion, understanding and kindness to ourselves - can you relate?Realising the ...

I have never really paid a lot of attention to Thyme until I went through a plant-based eating phase a couple of years ago. During this time I tried many different recipes with a wider range of herbs and spices than I had previously used in the kitchen, expanding my repertoire and taste experiences tremendously. Inspired, we started to grow different herbs in the garden – and as you can see by the picture, our flowering Thyme is currently thriving (and the Marigolds provide a gorgeous splash of colour in the background).Thyme does not only look beautiful, it also tastes and smells oh so divine – and, it has impressive health properties to offer. ...

As a vital part of kinesiology sessions, I work with and create tailored affirmations for my clients every day. They are a simple yet effective tool and follow up strategy to consciously connect with (and remind us of) how we want to think, feel and be. Affirmations serve as a prompt to pause, breathe and reset – something I’m sure is helpful for all of us to create a moment of calm in a busy and potentially stressful day. Inspired by a guided meditation, I’ve been sharing I AM mantras over the last couple of years on Instagram or Facebook. This year, I decided to add on by ...

Where would we be without a mobile phone and, for many people, Fitbits or smart watches? These devices make life easier and can be beneficial to our wellbeing if used to monitor steps, heart rate or sleep patterns for example. Naturally, mobiles can save lives as we can call emergency services pretty much from anywhere, anytime. However, have you ever wondered what effect the constant exposure to these devices may have on your body, underlying systems and your overall health? Invisible to the human eye, we are literally surrounded by Electro-Magnetic Fields (EMFs) – they can be of natural origin (the Earth has its own magnetic field) or, man-made. There are a vast range ...

In this day and age there are many things that can drain us and our energy. We are all unique so everyone’s experience is different yet whether we are conscious of it or not, certain influences can contribute to or leave us feeling drained, overwhelmed, irritated or annoyed. Vitamin is well known for its importance and as part of my nutrition studies, I’ve learned a few new things I thought I'd share with you. Everyone has different needs - please conduct further research and/or consult with your GP or qualified healthcare professional to ensure the approach you select is tailored and right for you. What is Vitamin D?Although part of the fat-soluble vitamins (the others are A, K and E), Vitamin D or calciferol is a steroid compound that acts like a ...

As part of the mantra series on my social media channels, I recently shared one of my favourite ones - I am free. The concept of generating a sense of freedom comes up frequently with clients in their kinesiology sessions, often accompanied by specific essential oils or flower essences. Take a moment to repeat “I am free.” – do this a few times, how does it resonate if you say it, think it and feel into it? What does it mean to you to be free?I recently worked with a young gentleman who felt very restricted and controlled. After speaking about this in more detail and agreeing that ...

I recently embarked on a new venture, studying food & nutrition wellness coaching at Nature Care College. I’m excited as it loops me back into one of my passions, nutrition. It also allows me to leverage my existing coaching skills obtained in 10+ years in the corporate world and 7+ years in my kinesiology clinic. As part of the wellness coaching unit, I’m enjoying welcome reminders about the value of communication – with a vital part being attributed to listening. Why is listening so important? Take yourself back to a conversation which you’ve really enjoyed, what made it special?Whether we are conscious of it or not, a key ...

Our auric field or aura is an extension of ourselves. In essence, it is an energetic field that surrounds our body consisting of several layers; these subtle bodies connect each into our physical body via energy centres (chakras). In Traditional Chinese Medicine the aura is referred to as the Wei Chi Field. There are many aspects that can contribute to a weak auric field or throwing our aura (us) out, such as stressful experiences, traumatic events, travelling on a plane or a medical procedure/ surgery. There can be individual triggers such as a specific person, a place, even a song – we may or may not be aware of these triggers, often they are ...

Our sight is an important sense – it aids our daily life and enables us to see, do and experience so many incredible things. It is not without reason that the eyes are seen as the windows to the Soul, they indeed can reflect how we are feeling – physically, mentally and emotionally. If we had a bad night’s sleep, had a stressful day/ experience or spend too much time on devices and in front of computer screens, it is likely that our eyes are feeling the effects – they might get tired, itchy and dry, look dull and we might feel the need to rub them frequently. Sound familiar?Interestingly, we don&...
