Prioritising wellbeing & selfcare.
How do you nurture yourself?
I took this photo last year in Sri Lanka where I stayed at a boutique hotel (The Secret Ella) on top of a mountain – it was pure bliss & relaxation. Of course, this is the definition of a holiday, right? When being away from home, I find it easy to switch off and look after myself. Doing so, when in the midst of life, managing the day-to-day, well, that’s a different story - can you relate?
Recently, I've experienced some physical challenges including joint issues which prevented me to go about things in the usual way. It is never pleasant to be in pain and to feel restricted, that said, it literally makes you stop and ponder, especially if there is no obvious cause.
With my line of work, I am conscious that physical imbalances show up for a reason and are usually a sign from the body that we are not quite as aligned as we could be – it is like a direct, unavoidable alert to get our attention, a vital message so to speak to step back, pause and listen...
I gained valuable insights through other healthcare practitioners, doing kinesiology on myself and tuning into my body's wisdom, leading me to make decisions and changes that I would have otherwise not made, all serving to simplify life.
While I am still in the process of fully unravelling and healing the various aspects, it yet again has heightened my awareness of how essential it is to look after ourselves.
In addition to what life brings in general, it has been an impactful year so far and we've been dealing with more turbulences than anyone would have ever imagined. A timely reminder to be mindful of what we focus on and to prioritise our wellbeing & selfcare. What are you going to choose today to nurture yourself?
If you are looking for support to help identify potential (sabotage) patterns, self-limiting beliefs or blocks that prevent you from truly honouring yourself & your needs (and this includes setting boundaries), please reach out – Kinesiology is a incredible tool to shed light on either of these and help you unravel them, so you can understand yourself better and make different, wiser choices.
